Making cups of tea for their supervisors

Learning engineering basics from the experts through loads of interesting hands-on tasks

All apprentices are young.

Yep, our apprentices are constantly channelling their inner Billie Eilish (can you believe she’s only 17?)

No way, last year, 41% of apprentices in England were over 25

Of course. We only take applications from school leavers

Rolls-Royce is an engineering firm, right?

Of course – but we’re more than that, we make tech that keeps the planet running too

Yes, we are engineers and engineers only (we like labels)

No, we make fat fryers and toasty makers

Apprentices don’t really make any money at all, right?

Actually, they earn while they study and get into no debt whatsoever

They have to work for free so don’t make any money at all

They earn barely anything and they still have to pay for their apprenticeship (somehow)

Nothing in life is ever free – least of all apprenticeships.

Of course you have to pay to do an apprenticeship, but that’s the price of getting qualifications

Yeah but we offer grants to help you pay for it (you’ll have to pay us back though)

Actually, not only are they free – apprentices earn money as they work and study

We heard Rolls-Royce has something to do with chip butties?! Is it true?

No, that’s ridiculous!

Our apprentices make them for us

Actually, yes. Our engines power the machinery that grows and harvests the ingredients in chip butties
